SPERRY -- Armstrong, age 78, famous author and illustrator of more than 25 books died in Hanover, N.H., April 26. Memorial services Thursday, 4 P.M., Thetford Center, Vt.

Armstrong W. Sperry, 78, Book Author and Illustrator BEDFORD CENTER, Vt.*, April 28 (UPI) -- Armstrong W. Sperry, author and illustrator of more than 25 books, died Monday in Hanover, N.H., at the age of 78. Mr. Sperry's most famous book was "Call It Courage," which won the John Newbery Medal in 1941. He also won The New York Herald Tribune Medal for "Storm Canvas" and te Boys Club of America Medal for "Rain Forest" in 1950. He leaves a wife, Margaret Roberts Sperry**; a son, John Sperry; a daughter, Susan Burns; six grandchildren, and a brother.
